This week brought a reunion day with the Carter family, former residents of Danville, California, and Memphis. We met them in Memphis, where Britt and I became occasional sitters for the youngest two Carter kids when their parents were out of town. We have many fond memories with Caitlin, like the snowstorm and watching the X-Files. Little Caitlin, who was eleven when we taught her in primary (she would volunteer to say both the opening and closing prayers), is now expecting a child of her own.
On Tuesday, the kids and Britt spent the day with Caitlin, her sister Courtney and her three kids, their mom Kathy, and the Blatters at Upper Edgren. Much fun was had at their pool, and the adults went to dinner later.
We just love Caitlin. She has a heart of gold, and is a woman of many talents. She has a light in her eyes, the same light that I see in Britt's. One of my lasting memories of Caitlin is from when she was 12 or 13, standing at the podium singing a song about the hands of Christ, with her voice sweet and full of her testimony as tears ran down her cheeks. I was off to the side of her, and could see how she moved her own hands as she sang, something the congregation couldn't see. She is going to be a fantastic mother.
